DENMARK – A 38-year-old Denmark woman was conscious and alert after falling into Moose Pond Monday afternoon and being rescued by a friend.

“She was on the dock, and for unknown reasons she fell into the water and into the pond,” State Trooper Chris Farley said. “Two of her friends picked her up and brought her back out, and she was conscious and alert” when police arrived at the scene, he said.

The woman, who Farley did not name, fell into the water at the town beach.

She was taken to Bridgton Hospital after she was rescued.

The cause of her fall is under investigation, Farley said. “It doesn’t look like foul play was involved. The people (didn’t) know, on scene. They said she fell off the dock, she didn’t come back up, one of them went in and pulled her back out.”
