NEW GLOUCESTER – For the seventh year, Eastgate Christian School has awarded the Laurie McKay Scholarship, established in memory of New Gloucester resident and Eastgate Christian Fellowship member, Laurie McKay.

The $500 tuition scholarship was awarded to sixth-grader, Olivia Rottari, for the 2007-2008 school year. She is the daughter of Robert and Jane Rottari of New Gloucester.

The scholarship is presented to a student who demonstrates excellence in three areas: service, character and academics.

The student must demonstrate an attitude of service in the local community, exhibit strong moral and spiritual character and demonstrate a commitment to achieving his or her full academic potential.
