Lewiston – Normand R. Poulin, 69, of 5 Saint Jerome St., Lewiston, died peacefully Wednesday evening, Oct. 10, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with his loving and devoted family by his side, after a long courageous illness.
He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 6, 1938, a son of the late Arthur D. and Jeannette Gonthier Poulin. He was educated in Lewiston schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.
On June 6, 1959, he married the former Patricia R. Rodrigue of Auburn. He was employed at Bates Mfg. Co., Hill Mill Division for 10 years, at Pioneer Plastic for 22 years, at Ace Security for five years and retired from the Auburn Public Library in 1997.
He was a member of Holy Family Parish, past president and treasurer of Jacques Cartier Club and the Hillside Family Riders Snowmobile Club.
Normand loved spending time with his family and enjoyed dancing, swimming and watching the New England Patriots. This past summer he enjoyed going around the neighborhood in his mobilized chair, which he called his Cadillac, and also enjoyed the companionship of the family canine, Baxter.
Norm will be remembered for putting others before himself and his fun-loving spirit.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia of Lewiston; a daughter, Jennifer and her husband Jody Demers of Lewiston, two sons, Daniel R. Poulin Sr. and his wife, Susan, of Gray, Ronald N. Poulin and his wife, Kelly, of Poland; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, David and Alex Demers, Daniel R. Poulin Jr. and his wife, Kim, and their sons, Austin and Aidan, Matthew Poulin and Tracy Graves, and their daughter, Amelia, Meagan and Emily Poulin; several nieces and nephews; a sister, Jeannine Cote and her husband, Romeo, of Lewiston; and a brother, Raymond Poulin of Sabattus.
He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Patricia M. Poulin this year.
