LEWISTON – After sold-out shows earlier this year, Mystery for Hire will return to Marco’s Restaurant with mystery dinner theater for the fall season.

An original script, “Zelda & Zoe’s Spirits of Suspicion” will premiere Friday, Oct. 19, with “Politics Can Be Murder” returning Saturday, Nov. 3.

“Spirits of Suspicion,” written by Dan Marois, co-owner of Mystery for Hire with his wife, Denise, takes guests into the psychic world and the mystical arts as they join “would-be” psychic sisters, Zelda and Zoe. Whether it is predicting the future, answering profound questions of the unknown or stirring up the spirits in the afterlife, Zelda and Zoe surely know how to make an impression.

“The show is a great Halloween treat, and you never know when a ghostly spirit might appear or an audience member might become part of the haunting action,” said Marois,

Of “Politics Can Be Murder,” Marois said, “The political season never really takes a break, and we make the most of it in this original murder mystery production.”

“Politics Can Be Murder” covers the Senate campaign of incumbent Warren Hardstuff, who is being challenged by Hilton Paris III, an up-and-coming opponent. The audience is also introduced to Hilary Hardstuff, the senator’s opinionated wife; George Stepitupalot, a political junkie and pollster; and a young lady, Candy, who has political ambitions of her own.

“Since we are in the prime political season, audiences love the show because it makes light-hearted fun of the political process,” Marois said.

Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., with the show starting at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $36.95 per person, which includes a full buffet, mystery show, tax and gratuity. “Our guests like the fact that one price includes everything but drinks, and they like getting entertained while eating a great buffet at the same time,” said Marois.

Tickets must be purchased in advance by visiting or calling Marco’s Restaurant at 783-0336. For more information, log on to mysteryforhire.com.
