WINDHAM (AP) – Officials are dealing with a power outage at the Maine Correctional Center in Windham, which houses more than 600 prisoners.

Associate Corrections Commissioner Denise Lord says a vendor truck knocked over a utility pole and damaged one of the emergency generators at 8 this morning, leaving parts of the state’s second-largest prison in the dark.

Officials have taken steps to restrict movement of inmates at the prison, which houses medium- and minimum-security inmates.
