LISBON – A surprise party was held recently for Edward “Duffer” and Lina Alexander of Lisbon, on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary. Party hosts were their three daughters, Dawn King, Bonnie Hunter and Lynn Stein.

The party was held Aug. 19 at Graziano’s Restaurant in Lisbon. The room was decorated with white table cloths with a rose bowl on each table. The cake was a replica of their original wedding cake, which was topped with fresh white lilies.

The couple was married on Sept. 27, 1947, in Lisbon.

Attending their grandparents’ celebration were the families of Guy and Tammy Champagne and daughters, Emily and Natalie of Sun Prairie, Wisc., Brian and Tracy Boulet and daughter, Kaitie and Davy King of Lisbon, along with other friends and family.

A congratulatory card was received from the White House and signed by President and Mrs. George Bush.
