FARMINGTON – Sophomore striker Marcus Bubar collected a pair of goals to lead Lisbon to a 3-2 victory over Georges Valley in the MVC championship game Saturday.

The Buccaneers scored first on a tally from senior striker Jonas Ferber. Minutes later, Cam Bubar responded for the Greyhounds to tie up the contest at 1-1.

Marcus Bubar, who had put the Greyhounds up 2-1 before the half, headed in the eventual game-winner on a throw-in up the middle, which deflected high off a defensive player.

Goalie Alex Young made nine saves for Georges Valley, while Mike Call turned away six to earn the win for Lisbon.

Hebron 6, Gould 1

HEBRON – Cam Laurie paced the Lumberjacks with a pair of goals as Hebron chopped their way to a 6-1 victory over Gould in boys’ soccer action Saturday.

Austin Grande and Costa Tsitouras aided the Lumberjacks (2-3-3) with first half goals, while Rob Martin and Sebastian Wingendorf sandwiched Laurie’s second half tally in the winning effort.

Nico Portuondo posted the only goal for the Huskies (0-5-1) in the 50th minute.

Goalie Nick Brigham and Jamie Silva-Chandley shared keeper duties for Hebron with six saves, while Ben Milner turned away 12 for Gould.

Girls’ soccer

Hebron 2, Gould 1

HEBRON – Emma Leavitt sealed the win for the Lumberjacks with a blast just under the crossbar as Hebron posted a 2-1 decision over Gould.

The Huskies (1-7) broke through first when Maggy Reynolds calmly beat Hebron goalie Shelly Bolduc to the near-post for a 1-0 hafltime lead.

Leavitt evened the score for the Lumberjacks (4-1-2) when Annie Hart’s pass found her waiting at the top of the box, and placed the ball just inside the back post.

Georges Valley 3, Hall-Dale 2

FARMINGTON – Desire Smith scored an unassisted tally early in the second half for the eventual game-winner as Georges Valley held on for a 3-2 triumph over Hall-Dale in the MVC championship game.

Karis Sawyer and Rachel Sprague put the Buccaneers (15-0) up 2-0, before Amy Skillings fired back for the Bulldogs (12-3) to make it 2-1 at the midpoint.

Skillings closed the gap to within one again in the second half for the Bulldogs on an assist from Michelle Severance. But, the tally with 4:03 remaining in regulation was the last Hall-Dale managed to garner.
