LEWISTON – Yvette Pomerleau Desjardins, 91, a resident of 30 Baird Ave., Lewiston, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, at her home surrounded by loved ones.

She was born in Lewiston, July 27, 1916, the daughter of Romeo and Emella (Maheux) Pomerleau. Yvette was married to Adrien Desjardins in 1941, and resided on Baird Avenue her entire married life where she raised five children and devoted many happy hours tending her vegetable gardens. She was a member of Holy Cross Church where she attended faithfully on a daily basis until recent years.

Survivors include one son, Raymond Desjardins and his wife, Donna, of Cedar Run, N.J.; four daughters, Lucille Desjardins and her husband, Denny Cottrell, of Schenectady, N.Y., Diane Girvin and her husband, Steve, of Hamden, Conn., Helen Gagne and her husband, John, of Berlin, N.H., and Cecile Thornton of Lewiston; two sisters, Gratia and Mignonne Pomerleau, both of Lewiston. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Adrien Desjardins in 1999; and one brother, Armand Pomerleau in 2003.
