LISBON – Lucille Amanda Albert Clavette, 87, formerly of Lewiston and Sabattus, passed away very peacefully on Monday, Oct. 15, at the Lamp Alzheimer’s Residential Care, where she had been a resident for the past three years. She passed surrounded by her loving family and her extended family at the Lamp, who loved and cared for her and whom she loved dearly.

She was born in Ste. Agathe on May 6, 1920, the daughter of Donat Albert and Beatrice Albert. She worked at the Bates Mill in Lewiston for 31 years, retiring in 1984, and then worked part time while wintering in Pompano Beach, Fla.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and over the years crocheted and knitted many blankets and mittens to keep them warm. She also enjoyed dancing, country music, cooking for her family, taking long walks and tending her flowers.

She was a very loving and giving lady, and her smile was precious to us all. She smiled all the way to Heaven, and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include two sons and five daughters, Normand Clavette and wife, Lorraine, of Lewiston, Diane and husband, Harold Wyman, of Turner, Sue Wright of Lewiston, Terry and husband, Lore Ford, of Whitefield, Jackie and husband, Roland Clavet, of Lewiston, Joan Dufour of Lewiston and Herby Clavette and wife, Bernice, of Sabattus; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Rena Williams.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Jeannine Brown; three sons, Richard and twins; Raymond and Joseph; seven sisters, Mathilda Bealieu, Mabel Loizer, Marie Plourde, Cecile Gervais, Irene Ayotte, Rose Chasse and Jeanette Albert; and three brothers, Romeo Albert, Antoine Albert and Alcide Albert.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at the Lamp and to the Rev. Chouinard for the loving care they gave Lucille in her final days.
