LEWISTON – Educators are invited to attend, at no charge, the 7 p.m. performance of “Almost, Maine” Thursday, Oct. 18, at The Public Theatre. “It’s our way of saying thanks,” said Artistic Director Christopher Schario. “Last season, over 5,000 students attended a student matinee performance at The Public Theatre because teachers took an interest in our programming.”

As part of its outreach efforts, TPT, which stages Equity productions featuring professional actors from New York and New England, offers reduced ticket prices, $5, for students. Students can also take part in post-show discussions with the actors and director.

Free study guides prepared by Professor Martin Andrucki of Bates College are available in advance of each production, along with a Maine Learning Results Guide listing the educational objectives met with each production.

Any educator interested in attending the Oct. 18 performance should RSVP the name and the number of people attending to 782-2211 or [email protected].

For more information, visit TPT’s Web site, www.thepublictheatre.org. The theater is at Lisbon and Maple streets.
