BRUNSWICK – William J. Paschke, 50, died Sunday, Oct. 14, at his home in the company of family and friends.
He was born in Oak Park, Ill., on March 27, 1957, a son of Charles J. and Marjorie Walsh Paschke. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Indiana University, Pa., Class of 1980. He married Mona J. Castonguay in Brunswick on July 6, 1996.
Bill owned and operated his own contracting business. He was named a “Paul Harris Fellow” of Rotary International for his “tangible and significant assistance furthering understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.”
His efforts and selflessness earned him recognition from Asaprosar, the Salvadoran Association for Rural Health, for his “passion, energy, generosity and dedication to improving the lives of El Salvador’s poorest families.”
He was an avid basketball player and coach, and a faithful New Endland Patriots fan. He was a sundance supporter and a member of Kalpulli Kennebec. He dabbled in acting and modeling and played semipro football.
He is survived by his wife, Mona Paschke of Brunswick; four sons, Jack Paschke of Providence, R.I., Logan Paschke of Providence, R.I., Marc Berube of Minot and Eric Berube of Brunswick; a daughter, Michaela; his mother, Marjorie Paschke of York, Pa.; four brothers, Raymond Paschke and his wife, Kathy, of Sewickley, Pa., Chip Paschke and his wife, Maryna, of York, Pa., Bob Paschke and Deidre, of Norfolk, Mass., and Jim Paschke and his wife, Margie, of York, Pa.; four sisters, Peg Thale and her husband, Steve, of Manhattan, Mont., Mary Ohlmann and her husband, Dean, of Coloma, Mich., Katy Ondek and her husband, Tom, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Jean Merritt and her husband, Jeff, of York, Pa.; and his ‘adoptive’ family from Brunswick, Lucille and the late John Fournier and family.
He was predeceased by his father, Charles Paschke.
