TURNER – Newly installed Commander Warren K. Clark has announced the Turner Memorial Post 111, American Legion, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Leavitt Institute Building Community Room.
Past Commander Harris L. Bradeen resigned due to health reasons at the Sept. 20 post meeting.
Clark previously served as the first commander of Post 111 and was recently nominated to serve for the remainder of the 2007-2008 year.
The post will discuss further training for the Maine Military Honors Program as well as the formation of a color guard and firing squad party. Clark will also announce the amending of the post bylaws.
The 24th anniversary of the Beirut Bombing and the Grenada Invasion will be observed by a moment of silence.
Anyone interested in joining the Turner post and/or serving in the color guard or firing squad should attend.
