Friends show DVD
FARMINGTON – Farmington Friends (Quaker meeting) invites the public to view “Tau Te Mauri, Breath of Peace,” an inspirational DVD from the Aotearoa/New Zealand Peace Movement, at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Congregational Church, 235 Main St.
Trout Unlimited
BETHEL -The Mollyocket Chapter of Trout Unlimited will meet Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Gould Academy.
John and Nate Wight will present a show on salmon fishing in New York and Nate will also show some tying. There will be free flies with a dinner ticket. Dinner will be held from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 6:30. For more information, call Dick Walthers at 743-7461.
Church lunch
FARMINGTON – A fish chowder luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Fairbanks Union Church. There will be homemade biscuits and apple crisp. Cost is $6, eat in or take out; call 778-4705 for delivery.
Haunted house
STRATTON – There will be a Haunted House at the home of Lee and Mary Henderson, 180 Main St., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Halloween, Wednesday, Oct. 31, to benefit the Dead River Area Historical Society. Donations are appreciated but not required.

AVON – Plans are under way for the annual “Christmas in Avon” Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Avon Community Hall. New crafters/vendors are welcome to join. Tables are available for $10.
