WILTON – The former Wilton Primary School on School Street has been listed with a commercial broker from Portland, Town Manager Peter Nielsen told select board members Tuesday.

John Doyon from Malone Commercial Brokers was commissioned to sell the property for $370,000, he said.

The deed for the approximate 7500-square-foot vacant building built in 1950 was returned to the town in August from the Franklin Community Health Network. It had used the school for the Renaissance School.

During the June town meeting, voters gave the board the authority to sell or lease the property.

Nielsen also told the board that the state has approved the tax increment financing agreement with Comfort Inn.

Selectman Irv Faunce indicated that he would like to resign from his additional responsibilities on the planning board but will continue until another member can be found. No action was taken, said Assistant Town Manager Barbara Vining on Wednesday.

The board also approved hiring Douglas E. Geis of Wilton as a part-time police officer.

The next board meeting will be on Nov. 7.
