FREEPORT – The Maine Chapter of Better Investing, a non-profit national organization, will sponsor an investment seminar on Nov. 3 at the Freeport Community Library from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Open to all investors and to the general public, this event will feature several classes offering interesting and useful skills.

David Chute, chief investment strategist of the Chittenden Bank, will give the keynote address during the lunch hour. His topic will be “How the Federal Reserve Policy Affects Your Investing.” That will be followed by Chute’s own version of Jim Cramer’s popular Lightning Round. He will also teach a class on “Global Asset Allocation and Your Portfolio.”

Also on the program will be a stock selection class, “When Is a Bad Stock Good and a Good Stock Bad?” taught by Chris Lyford, a chief investment officer from Acadia Trust, N.A., which is affiliated with the Camden National Bank. Pat Jones, president of the Maine Chapter of BI, will teach “P/E – Not Your Gym Class,” and Greg Spitzer will give an overview of the Stock Study Guide.
