AUBURN – Jeffrey Phipps Thurlow, 66, of Auburn, died Saturday, Oct. 13, at his home with his loving family at his side.

Jeff was born in Lewiston on Sept. 30, 1941, a son of the late Madison and Patricia (Holt) Thurlow. After school he served his country in the U.S. Army and later went on to work for Central Maine Power retiring as a hydro operator.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1603, the American Legion and the Tranquil Masonic Lodge. He loved working with his hands and spent many hours in his workshop building beautiful wood products for his friends and family.

In his younger years, he was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be missed for his deep appreciation of nature and all living things. His love for God and Jesus were not found in a church, but outdoors with the blue skies, birds, deer and all animals. His love for green grass, flowers, John Deere, old music, friends and family were some of his favorites.

He leaves his wife of 38 years, Claudia Kenney Thurlow of Auburn; a daughter, Jennifer Rudman and her husband, Kevin, of Otisfield, and their two sons, Paul and Dean Rudman.
