OXFORD – An 18-year-old man was charged Friday with aggravated trafficking in marijuana and violating bail conditions.
Samuel R. Cronin of 54 Pleasant St., “admitted to selling some marijuana to friends from time to time,” according to an affidavit filed by Sgt. Rickie Jack of the Oxford Police Department.
The affidavit states that Jack, acting on a search warrant, seized less than a pound of bagged marijuana, a grinder with marijuana particles on it, scales, sandwich bags, and drug paraphernalia.
The trafficking charge was aggravated due to the proximity of the residence to Oxford Elementary School.
Cronin was initially held without bail at the Oxford County Jail due to a violation of bail conditions. The conditions, which included no use of alcohol or illegal drugs and random searches to ensure compliance, were set after Cronin was arrested in June on a charge of providing a place for minors to consume alcohol.
Personal recognizance was set in the case on Monday, with the same bail conditions applied. Cronin was released from jail.
