FARMINGTON – Learn more about Plum Creek’s proposed development plan for the Moosehead Region at a talk, sponsored by the Western Maine Audubon Society, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the University of Maine at Farmington Roberts Learning Center, Room C-23.

Much of her work has focused on assessing and monitoring the impacts of forest and land management practices on birds and other wildlife. Most recently, her experience has expanded to include the assessment of economic impacts of land management and the economic value of conservation land.
As a certified stewardship adviser for Montana, she taught workshops on forestry, wildlife management and range science to forest landowners so they could develop long-term management plans for their property.
She has monitored avian populations and nesting success for private timber companies and the state of Montana, and has worked as a natural resources consultant for several nonprofit organizations.
She is a wildlife biologist with Maine Audubon and the director of the Maine Loon Project. Recent projects include coordination of the Maine Amphibian Monitoring Program, creation of an annual winter owl survey, initiation of an “Important Bird Area” program for Maine, and outreach programs on Plum Creek, significant wildlife habitat and common loons.
