LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine will begin registering swimmers for the winter session on Monday, Oct. 22, for YWCA members and Monday, Oct. 29, for the public.

Swim lessons are offered Monday through Thursday morning, afternoon, and evenings and Saturday mornings. Classes are available for all abilities and ages 6 months to adult. Classes may be a half hour or an hour long, depending on level.

Classes will begin on Saturday, Nov. 3, and run six to seven weeks. The cost is $63.50 for seven weeks and $58 for six weeks. Participants must be members of the YWCA.

Basic membership to the YWCA is good for a year and allows members to participate in YWCA programs on a pay-as-you-go basis. YWCA basic membership fees are: child up to age 12, $30; youth, ages 13 to 17, $35; adults, ages 18 to 59, $55; senior citizens, age 60+, $45.

Private swim lessons are also available by appointment. The cost for private swim lessons is $25 a half-hour session. Participants must be members of the YWCA. Private lessons are scheduled by appointment. To book a lesson, call the YWCA.
