LEWISTON – Singer/songwriter Meg Baird, a member of the progressive folk collective Espers, will perform along with fingerstyle guitarist Sean Smith and Bird by Snow, Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Chill Yoga Studio.

Baird, of Philadelphia, performs original and traditional folk music and is also half of a duo with her sister, Laura. Her debut solo album, sparsely recorded with guitar, banjo and dulcimer, showcases her pure vocals, especially with “Willie O’ Winsbury” and her closing a cappella “Untitled.” For more on Baird, visit www.myspace.com/pennsylvaniawildlife.

Smith is firmly rooted in the Takoma School Guitar Tradition pioneered by John Fahey and Robbie Basho. His greatest strength is his ability to create emotive, unique storylike compositions. For more, log on to www.myspace.com/seansmithlives.

Raised in temperate year-round fog, Fletcher M. Tucker, a gifted multi-instrumentalist, adopted the name Bird By Snow from an E.E. Cummings poem. Known for fine song-craftiness and genre bending, Bird By Snow has been performing and recording since 2001. It is his wish that his “records, words and pictures be seen as thankfulness, for the generous life that I am living in the ever-giving world.”

The performance will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10. Room is limited. Call 576-1308 or 795-0799. The second-floor studio is at Main and Middle streets. Enter at 105 Middle St. Shoes should be left at the door. Bring your own floor cushion.
