JAY – Todd Eric Gallant, 43, died peacefully at his home in the comfort of his loving family on Oct. 17.

He was born in Farmington on April 19, 1964, the son of Shirley Brown Gallant and Lawrence Gallant and stepson of Jean Ouellette. He attended Jay schools and earned an associate degree in electromechanical technology from Central Maine Technical College in 1987. He married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Sproul, on June 24, 1989.

He was often the center of attention, and he captured the interest of others around him with his wittiness and problem-solving abilities. He always selflessly displayed care and concern for others and was and will always be an inspiration to anyone who knew him.

He was a computer whiz and helped many family members and friends with troubleshooting their computer dilemmas.

He also enjoyed fishing and playing musical instruments with his father and brother. He showed his affection by giving nicknames to those he loved including wife Lisa, who answered to several of his nicknames throughout the years.

He lived with ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease for 12 years, and though his illness created life challenges and changes, he remained positive and always held onto his priceless sense of humor and appreciation for life.

Surviving are his wife and soul mate, Lisa; his parents, Jean and Shirley Ouellette; his brother Shawne’s widow, Michelle Gallant; his sister, April and her husband, Duane Trask; his brother, Cory Ouellette and his companion, Michelle Newman; his nephews, Zack, Shane, Deaken and Austin; Lisa’s parents, Richard and Jeanne Sproul; and Lisa’s sister, Laurie and her husband, Bob Marcotte.

He was predeceased by his father, Larry; brother, Shawne; his paternal grandparents, Isadore and Rita Gallant; his maternal grandparents, Gourley Brown and Mary Brown Stevens; and step-grandfather, Lawrence Stevens.

Todd, forever you will remain in our hearts. Thank you for your never-ending love and joyous sense of humor. I will miss you my love-my best friend. Your love, Lisa.
