HAMPTON, Va. – Jeannette A. Hildebrandt (Ryder), 71, of Brooks, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, surrounded by family, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Sept. 2, 1936, in Somerville, Mass., the daughter of the late Anna and Carl Ryder and the sister of the late George Ryder.

She was a beautiful person full of love for friends and family. She was an avid gardener with a love for flowers and vegetables of all kinds.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Hildebrandt, of Brooks; two daughters, Audrey Skorski and her husband, Wes, of Connecticut, and Beth Elliott and her husband Paul of Virginia; a sister, Ruth Malcolm and her husband, Robert, of Mechanic Falls; two brothers, Paul Ryder and his wife, Sue, of Saco, and Wilson Ryder of Somerville, Mass.; a grandchild, Maria Skorski; three step grandchildren, Renee, Brian and Melissa Elliott; a niece and several nephews.
