FARMINGTON – Mable G. Locke, 95, a resident of Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center, died Saturday, Oct. 20, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 10, 1912, in Anson, a daughter of John and Bessie (Taylor) Fish. On Oct. 26, 1935, she married James Leslie Locke. He died On Dec. 28, 1995.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed for 21 years at the snack bar at J. J. Newberry’s in downtown Farmington. She was also employed at Perkins Cabins, Stewart’s Diner and Hidden Acres Dairy Bar, all of Farmington. She was a founding member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Farmington, now of Wilton, and was a member of the Chesterville Grange. She enjoyed being stylish in her choice of attire and held fast to Sunday rituals of visiting family and close friends in her hometown of Anson.

She is survived by her son, Jim Locke and his wife, Karen, of Chesterville; one granddaughter, Debra Locke Hinds and her husband, Rick Hinds, of Durham; a brother, Nelson Fish of Waterville; and a sister, Ruth Moore of Anson.

She was predeceased by her husband; their infant daughter, Joanne; a brother, Corey Fish; and sisters, Cordelia Fourtune, Jenney Lakin, Edna Horne and Edith Jackson.
