LEWISTON – Dr. Wayne Moody, medical director at St. Mary’s Center for Joint Replacement, will speak at the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club meeting at noon Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Ramada Inn.
Moody will speak on “The Age of Bionics Is Here.” Orthopedic surgeons have pioneered major advances in joint replacement surgery, including cementless implants, minimally invasive approaches to knee and hip replacement, and use of a more flexible knee implant that behaves more like a person’s own knee.
Moody’s presentation will detail some of the new approaches and discuss the opening of St. Mary’s Joint Replacement Center scheduled for Friday, Oct. 26. The center is a collaboration between the hospital and Central Maine Orthopedics, PA, where Moody practices orthopedic surgery.
The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club meets at noon Thursdays at the Ramada Inn. Anyone who is interested in learning more about Rotary and/or learning about St. Mary’s Center for Joint Replacement is welcome to attend. For more information about Rotary, visit www.lewistonauburnrotary.org.
