FARMINGTON – Richard Paul, 77, of Farmington, died Sunday, Oct. 21, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 4, 1930, the son of Herschel W. and Hilda (Bubier) Paul in Farmington. He was educated in the schools of Farmington and graduated from Farmington High School in 1950.

In January 1951, he married Carolyn Rollins in Phillips. As a young man, he worked as a lineman for CMP, then as a salesman. Later he became a well-known brick and stone mason, having worked on many prominent entryways and buildings around the county.

He was a member of the Farmington Elks Lodge and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, snowmobiling and his dog, Barney. He loved spending time making music and cooking.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Carolyn; two daughters, Deborah Kempton of Farmington and Darcy Kempton of Tennessee; his son, Richard D. Paul and his wife, Janet, of Farmington; eight grandchildren, Seth, Jamie, Jessica, Sean, Adam, Sierra, Jeremiah and Jade; two great-grandchildren, Daven and Kaitlyn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Misty Paul; and several siblings.
