LEWISTON – Thomas “Tom” Shanel Lavoie, 46, of Field Road, Lisbon, passed away suddenly on Friday, Oct. 19, at Central Maine Medical Center from an apparent heart attack.

He was born in Queens, L.I., N.Y., Feb. 5, 1961, the son of Shanel J. and Lucille I. Laforge Lavoie.

Tom lived all his life in Lisbon and graduated from Lisbon High School and was married to Kathy Chabot. He was employed for more than 10 years at Falcon Shoe Co. and at the time of his death was employed at Island Oasis Manufacturing Co. in Yarmouth.

He was a member of the Central Maine Dart League, where he won a championship, and the 20-M Club. He also was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins, the Boston Red Sox, the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots. He also loved watching NASCAR every weekend with his favorite racers being Carl Edwards and Dale Jarrett. He had many friends and was loved by all.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Lisbon; two sons, Phillip Lavoie of Portland and Scot Lavoie of Lisbon; his mother and father of Livermore; a brother, Scott Lavoie and wife, Paula, of Wilton; maternal grandmother, Leona Laforge of Limestone; father-in-law, Roland and Bonnie Chabot of Auburn; mother-in-law, Claire Chabot of Lewiston; brother-in-law, John Chabot of Sabattus; 10 aunts; three uncles; two nieces; and dozens of cousins.
