LISBON – Central Mainers are invited to drop in on St. Matthew’s Church Intersection Book Club from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursdays at the church off Route 196. November’s selection, “What Jesus Demands from the World” by John Piper, focuses on a new insight into an absolute Lord who offers holy joy.
Open to those who attend every week or just one, the Intersection Book Club is free.
“The Jesus in this book is straight from Scripture. His majesty will awe you. Piper’s powerful words point out that living into the absolute authority of Jesus brings ‘holy joy’ into your life,” said the Rev. Beau Wagner, pastor at St. Matt’s.
Information on ordering books is available at the parish office by calling 353-8453.
The December selection is “Jesus Mean and Wild: The Unexpected Love of an Untamable God” by Mark Galli.
