WEST PARIS – Anne E. Gallant, 86, longtime resident of Somerset Street, Rumford, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Ledgeview Living Center, after a brief illness. She passed with her immediate family and special friend Avis Orino at her side.
She was born in Mexico, on July 12, 1921, a daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Dolan) Casey.
She attended grammar school in Mexico and was a graduate of Mission High School in Boston, Mass.
After graduation, she returned to Maine and married Goose Gallant. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage.
She was employed for more than 20 years with Casco Bank & Trust in Rumford.
She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Catholic Church.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved to cook for family get-togethers and doing crossword puzzles.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are four children, Dennis W. Gallant and wife, Beth, of Parrish, Fla., Wilbert “Bill” Gallant Jr. and wife, Brenda, of North Windham, Conn., Gary J. Gallant and wife, Elayne Lawler, of Andover and Elizabeth A. Funke and husband, Brian, of Durham; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Wilbert J. “Goose” Gallant; and a son, David W. Gallant.
