WINTHROP – Ronald E. Wade, 81, of Winthrop, died Thursday, Oct. 25, at his home.

He was born in Farmington Dec. 28, 1925, the son of Lemert and Merle (Brown) Wade. He graduated from Farmington High School and entered the U.S. Navy.

He served on an LST in World War II in the Pacific. He met his wife, Ethel Pappas in Florida, after the war. They moved to Winthrop in the 1950s and he began working at Albany Felt in North Monmouth. Later, Ron worked for Frank Pomerleau repairing appliances and retired as custodian for the Winthrop schools.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing his guitar. In recent years, he could be seen riding his 20-speed mountain bike around the area.

He is survived by three cousins; two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ethel; and his brothers, Melvin G. Wade Sr. and Lemert E. Wade Jr.
