GORHAM, N.H. – Mildred E. Wentzell, 94, of 9 Madison Ave., Gorham, N.H., passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, Oct. 25.
She was born in Gorham, N.H., on March 28, 1913, the daughter of Robert and Ada (Meagher) Eisnor. She graduated from Gorham High School in 1931, and was a lifelong resident of Gorham. She was a member of the Gorham Historical Society, the Gorham Women’s Club and the Gorham Methodist Church. She was a loving mother who enjoyed traveling with her family. She was an excellent cook and was known for her cookies. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at McDonald’s, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Members of her family include her daughter, Mary Ellen Newton and her husband, Roy, of Gorham, N.H.; two grandchildren, Scott Newton and his wife, Betty, of Gorham, N.H. and Julie Dale and her husband, Shad, of Gorham, N.H.; five great-grandchildren, Kyle Newton, Samantha Newton, Andrew Dale, Matthew Rich and Katie Rich; three sisters, Arlene Plante of Gorham, N.H., Helen Lamontagne of Gorham, N.H. and Marion Eisnor of New Haven, Conn.; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Carroll, in 1991; her parents; two brothers, Alvin Eisnor and Robert Eisnor; and a granddaughter, Jane.
