Lewiston – Phyllis Sturgis Goodwin, 78, of Minot, died Friday, Oct. 26, at the Hospice House on Stetson Road.

She was born in Auburn on May 12, 1929, the daughter of Alfred and Hazel Mower Sturgis. Phyllis graduated from Edward Little High School in the class of 1947. She married Roger Goodwin on July 16, 1949. Phyllis had worked at various occupations during her lifetime as well as being a homemaker. She loved to bake and was well known for her breads. She also had an extensive collection of mice from stuffed animals to ceramic figurines. She was happiest when she was with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Roger of Minot; her children, Peter and wife, Cindy Goodwin, of Searsport, Ruth Goodwin of Bennington, Vt., Kaye and husband, Gary Stugard, of Minot, Stephen and wife, Debbie Goodwin, of Cape Coral, Fla.; her siblings, Therna Curtis of Connecticut, Beryl and husband, Phil Lawrence, of Mars Hill, John and wife, Barbara Sturgis, of Arizona; sisters-in-law, Joan Sturgis, Erma Sturgis, Jean Thompson and Alma Palmer; 19 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
