BRUNSWICK -New England Telemark and the Bowdoin College Outing Club will present the fifth annual Maine Telemark Film Festival, featuring the finalists of the National Amateur Telemark Film Contest, Friday, Nov. 9, on the Bowdoin campus. Also to be shown is Lipstick Film’s newest Telemark ski movie “Since We Last We Spoke.”
The films will begin at 7 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium in Visual Arts Center.
The Maine Telemark Film Festival is free and open to the public.
A lobby bazaar will feature refreshments; there will be representatives from resorts, gear manufacturers and local ski shops; and raffles and prizes.
By popular demand, this year’s festival once again features homegrown tele flicks from around the country on the theme “What is the spirit of telemark to YOU?” Judges cull finalists, whose 10-minute shorts will be shown at the festival, with the winning entries determined that night by the audience.
New England Telemark is a group of telemark instructors dedicated to the teaching of the telemark turn. Originating in Maine in the early ’90s, NET now includes more than 30 instructors who teach at NET Telemark festivals and clinics around New England.
