NORWAY – The Norway Memorial Library will host a special afternoon with children’s author/illustrator Scott Nash at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, (Veterans Day school holiday) in celebration of Children’s Book Week. The program is open to all children in grades one to six. As space is limited, parents must preregister their children by Friday, Nov. 9.

Nash has illustrated more than 30 children’s books, including “Saturday Night at the Dinosaur Stomp” and “The Bugliest Bug” by Carol Diggory Shields; “Snow Day!,” “Beach Day!” and “Rainy Day!” by Patricia Lakin; the Flat Stanley series by Jeff Brown; and the just-released “Toy Farmer” by Andrew Pelletier. He is also the author/illustrator of “Tuff Fluff: The Case of Duckie’s Missing Brain” and is at work on his first novel for children.

Nash recently co-founded SNAP!, a studio in Portland, where he and his partners develop properties for animation, live action movies and a variety of children’s specialty markets. His design clients have included Nickelodeon, PBS, Milton Bradley, Scholastic, NBC and the Boston Children’s Museum.

A graduate of Swain School of Design, Nash holds a master’s degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art. He has lectured and taught at Boston University, Northeastern University, the Art Institute of Boston and Maine College of Art.

Nash lives with his wife, Nancy, also an illustrator, and their new pup, Zephyr, on Peaks Island.
