SABATTUS -The Sabattus PTA will conduct its sixth annual Croppin’ for Kids’ Sake from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Sabattus Central School, 40 Ball Park Road.

All proceeds will be used to fund a variety of educational and family programs and activities for the children of the Sabattus Primary and Central schools.

“The PTA is excited to be hosting this event again this year,” said Kim Veilleux, Sabattus PTA president and Croppin’ for Kids’ Sake Committee chairwoman. “We have been able to raise significant funds for the children of the Sabattus Elementary Schools with this event throughout the years and are hoping to do it again this year.”

She said, “With school budget cuts being what they are, it is extremely important that the PTA steps up to help our kids and their teachers get the additional funding they need for a vast amount of educational and recreational items.”

“Croppin’ for Kids’ Sake is our largest fundraising event. Last year we were able to raise over $8,000 on this event and had over 250 individuals participating. We hope to repeat this tremendous achievement again this year,” she said.

There will be food and beverages, lunch and snacks at the Cropper’s Cafe and there will be vendors with a variety of tools and supplies.

Gift bags will be presented to all registrants and door prizes and games will be offered all day. Raffle items will also be available.

The day is also an opportunity to help the local food pantry. Croppers are being asked to bring in nonperishable food and household items, such as laundry detergent, canned goods. In turn, the items brought in will earn participants extra chances to win prizes.

Brochures with registration information may be obtained by contacting Kim Veilleux at 375-7279 or [email protected].
