RUMNEY, N.H. (AP) – Police are trying to identify a driver who was critically injured in a crash early Wednesday and apparently lay on the ground for several hours before being discovered.

Police got the call around 5 a.m., and say they found the driver on the ground near a cemetery on Quincy Road. Investigators say the driver was thrown from a speeding SUV in the crash. The vehicle was stolen during the night.

Police say the driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Investigators have not been able to identify him.
