LEWISTON – Edna A. Woodbury, 91, of Roger Avenue, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Marshwood Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation.

She was born in New Bedford, Mass., July 22, 1916, the daughter of Henry and Matilda Fortin Gladu. She was educated in schools of Sabattus and was married to William Woodbury, who predeceased her in 1985. She had been employed in area shoe factories, but was well-known as an accomplished seamstress who specialized in making draperies at her shop, Edna’s Draperies.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping and her pets.

She is survived by a daughter, Sonia Woodrum and husband, Rodney, of Sabattus; five grandchildren, Bruce Lachance and wife, Tammy, of Moneta, Va., Cheryl Chick and companion, Andrew Jones, of Rockville, Md., Steve Lachance and wife, Caroline, of South Berwick, Lisa Roy of Sabattus and Jeffry Woodrum of Sabattus; six great-grandchildren, Elaine Treece, Joseph Lachance, Kristin Roy, Steve Lachance, Nicole Lachance and Heath Woodrum; a great-great-grandson, Ayden Lachance; a sister, Yvette Beaule of Sabattus; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Whitehouse; a daughter, Elaine Lachance; four sisters, Laura Langlois, Jeanne Gugenberger, Cecile Chouinard and Rita Marcotte; and a brother, Ronald Gladu.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Marshwood for their excellent care over the past four years.
