AUGUSTA (AP) – A new survey shows more than half of the Mainers polled support passage of the Indian racino question on next Tuesday’s ballot, but a large majority is against the proposal to extend legislative term limits.

The phone survey of more than 400 Maine residents in late October shows 56 percent supporting the racino question, 36 percent opposing and 8 percent undecided.

On the proposal to let legislators serve six instead of four consecutive terms, nearly two-thirds of those responding opposed passage while less than a third supported passage.

The Critical Insights survey also shows majorities supporting each of the three bond issues, which total 134 million dollars.

The survey has a 5 percentage point margin of error.
