PORTLAND – Friday, Nov. 23, is the deadline for interested performers to sign up for RO4UNO, Reindeer Records’ talent search for the best high-school solo artists in Maine.

For 23 years, Reindeer Records has presented the Rock-Off, a popular competition for high-school rock bands. RO4UNO is for individual singers, singer/songwriters and musicians who can perform solo, with no limit on the number of instruments they can use (including the use of prerecorded tracks).

Musicians of all styles are encouraged to compete, and all genres are welcome – from musical theater to hip-hop.

After Nov. 23, artists will be slotted for a live showcase on one of two dates: Sunday, Jan. 6, or Sunday Jan. 13, both at McAuley Performing Arts Center.

Five artists will then be selected to play in the finals, slated for Sunday, Feb. 10.

Besides the title of Best Young Solo Artist in Maine, the winning artist will win $250 cash, plus a live concert/mobile recording package.

Musicians interested in obtaining a registration packet or more info should contact Reindeer at 857-9002, or e-mail [email protected].
