On Tuesday, Lewiston voters in Ward 1 will have an opportunity to elect Tom Peters to represent them on the Lewiston City Council. Peters is a local attorney who has contributed a lifetime of community service.

He has served as a member and past chairman of the Lewiston Planning Board and Board of Appeals, member of the Farwell School Building Committee, former chairman of Androscoggin Head Start, member of the Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee, and a member of the board of directors of Community Little Theater. I have known him for more than 30 years and he has served his city with integrity.

The new City Council will make crucial decisions that will affect the future economic development of Lewiston for many years. I urge Ward 1 voters to elect Tom Peters their city councilor, as we need effective new leadership.
