LEWISTON – Noella P. Veillette, 77, of 393 Center St., Auburn, and formerly of Hartford, Conn., died Saturday, Nov. 3, at Central Maine Medical Center, following a short illness.

Born in Lewiston on Dec. 25, 1929, she was the daughter of Emmanuel and Malvina Lizotte Cote. Educated in local schools, she moved to Connecticut as a young woman, and was employed for several years by Capewell Manufacturing in Hartford.

After retiring form Capewell, she worked in the cafeteria at the Kennelly School, and then later at the Greenwood Manor Nursing Home, and also volunteered at the Rocky Hill Nursing Home.

She was married to Jean L. Veillette, and following his death on Oct. 13, 1997, she moved back to Maine in 1998, in order to be closer to family.

She was a member of the Pastime Club, the Sabattus and Lewiston senior citizen’s clubs, and the Ladies’ Auxiliary of both the VFW and the Franco-American War Veterans. An avid card player, she loved children and animals, and also enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include two stepsons, Robert Veillette and wife, Darlene, of Tucson, Ariz., and Barry Veillette and wife, Mary, of Hebron, Conn.; two stepdaughters, Elloney and husband, Richard Scott, of Naples, Fla., and Joyce Veillette of Apopka, Fla.; nine sisters, Bertha Pelletier of Auburn, Emma Roberge of Auburn, Lourianne Gervais and husband, Joseph, of Oakville, Conn., Irene Cote of Auburn, Theresa Cote of Lewiston, Constance and husband, Rehio Pomerleau, of Venice, Fla., Rita Cote of Auburn, Marie and husband, J. Kenneth Soucy, of Pinellas Park, Fla. and Georgette Gagnon of South Windsor, Conn.; five brothers, Arthur Cote of Auburn, Robert Cote of Lewiston, Emmanuel A. Cote of Sabattus, Henry Cote of Otisfield and Joseph Cote of Sabattus; a special friend and cousin, Dorothy Chasse of Auburn; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband; she was predeceased by two brothers, Romeo and Ernest Cote.
