NEW GLOUCESTER – Linda Chase won an easy victory on Tuesday, defeating Christopher Rheault to fill the unexpired 18-month term of former Selectman A. Wayne Cobb, who died in September.
The tally showed 541 votes for Chase against 366 votes for Rheault.
Chase, 45, a lifelong resident of New Gloucester, is a widow with three children. She has been a volunteer on the town’s Recreation Commission and the Fairgrounds Committee.
Chase is employed at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston as a lab technician.
This was Chase’s first effort for an elected slot and third for Rheault.
