LEWISTON – Police on Wednesday arrested a Canton man and charged him in connection with a September robbery at a Lisbon Street store.
Richard Dwyer, 44, was arrested and jailed, accused of using a knife to rob a clerk at the Big Apple convenience store at 1892 Lisbon St.
Nobody was hurt in the Sept. 17 heist, but the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
For nearly two months, police Detective Lee Jones investigated the robbery and developed leads in the case. Those leads led him Wednesday to Dwyer, who has an extensive criminal history, including a prior robbery conviction.
Dwyer remained at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn Wednesday night.
