Silent auction

TURNER – Turner Public Library will have an ongoing silent auction of handcrafted items from Nov. 10 through Dec. 8.

They will be on display for bidding at 98 Matthews Way from noon to 7 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. to noon every Saturday. Proceeds will benefit the library.

Vets breakfast

LEWISTON – A breakfast for veterans will be held from 7 to 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, in the Lewiston High School cafeteria. It is being sponsored by the Maine Cadet Corps, Lewiston High School and the L/A Veterans’ Council.

Disposing flags

LITCHFIELD – A flag disposal ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day, at the Legion Hall, 233 Plains Road. The ceremony will be conducted by the members of William R. Bold Post 181 and Boy Scout Troop 698.

MS supper

LEWISTON – The MS Support Group and Caregivers will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave. In celebration of National Caregivers Month, the group will have a potluck supper. OES meeting

LISBON FALLS – Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Ancient York Masonic Hall, Route 196. Members will honor warders and sentinels.

Members will bring children’s toys to donate to a Christmas toy drive. Refreshments will be served after the meeting, and homemade pies will be auctioned to raise money for Pioneer Chapter’s scholarship fund. All members of the order are invited to attend.

Seniors dinner

MONMOUTH – The Monmouth Lions Club will host a free senior citizens Thanksgiving dinner at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Cottrell School. Residents of Leeds, Wales, Litchfield and Monmouth are welcome. Call to make reservations at 933-5117.

Friends sale

AUBURN – Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends, a nonprofit organization that depends solely on donations, will hold its annual Christmas, bake, craft and raffle sale to raise money for the sick feral felines and animals who depend on services for food, litter and spaying or neutering.

The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday, Dec. 15, at K-Mart. A 50/50 raffle will be included among the prizes. Prizes will include gift certificates for gas and for meals.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Nov. 6 were: first, Claire Lyons and Nancy Farmer; second, Donna Bartlett and Sue Kaluzynski; third, Rosemarie Goodwin and Larry Fortier; fourth, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn.

Winners at Schooner Estates on Nov. 7 were: first, Jeanine Kivus and Patricia Garcia; second, Patricia and Mike Quinn; third, Helen Little and Anita Perrier; fourth, Luke Merry and Paul Barber.
