NORWAY – Forty years ago, Charles and Mary Flanders bought Newcomb Electric, where Charles had been employed, and changed the company name to Flanders Electric. Upon Charles’ retirement in 1986, son Leslie Flanders and wife Carol bought the business from his parents and carried on the family tradition of electrical service in the Oxford Hills area.
Employee Heath Poland has now bought the business. The name of the business and its 50 Beal St. location will remain the same.
Poland, a graduate of Central Maine Technical College, has been the general manager of Flanders Electric for the past year. No immediate changes are anticipated. and Flanders Electric will continue to employ three full-time electricians: Ron Heath, Scott Dunham and Roni Grover.
Poland lives in Woodstock with his wife, Torrey, a high school math teacher, and their four-year-old son Caden.
