SABATTUS – Joyce O. Crocker, 72, a resident of Ben’s Hill Road, Sabattus, died Friday, Nov. 9, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Monmouth, Feb. 21, 1935, the daughter of Alton L. and Alice Cressey Burnham. She attended the Monmouth schools.

In 1957, she married Edwin S. Packard, and they had five children together. She was then married to Romeo Plourde and Harold Crocker.

She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother. She worked as a certified nurse’s aide and in local shoe shops and also enjoyed doing repairs to her own car. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, crossword puzzles, country music and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Leeds.

She is survived by three sons, Edwin “Rod” Packard and his companion, Tina Mace, Jerry S. Packard and Scott A. Packard and his companion, Larisa Adams, all of Sabattus; a daughter, Susan M. Wright of Lisbon; five stepsons, Carl, Leonard, Rodney, Leroy and Marvin Crocker; a stepdaughter, Donna Hutchinson; a brother, Gustavus Burnham and his wife, Alberta, of Monmouth; six grandchildren, Lacey Mace, Nicholas Gagne, Christopher Wright, Jessica Wright, Mariah and Allison Ester; two great-grandchildren, Brittany Wright and Joshua Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Doreen Smith and Geraldine Burnham; and five brothers, Alton Jr., Elmer, Russell, Bobby and Ronald Burnham.

The family would like to thank the hospice workers that took such wonderful care of Joyce.
