PRENTISS (AP) – A Prentiss man has been charged with murder in the death of a friend.

State police arrested Joseph Dumas, 48, of Prentiss, on Saturday after the body of 70-year-old Mario Litterio was found in a wooded area.

Beyond saying Dumas and Litterio were friends, police did not disclose other details about the death. An autopsy was scheduled by the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

Dumas was taken to the Penobscot County jail and is expected to make his first court appearance either Tuesday or Wednesday.
