Where has my country gone?

From a nation built on taxation without representation, to one of the most taxed countries in the world.

A nation that has gone from the Boston Tea Party, to taxing the people when it rains.

From a Congress made up of farmers and businessmen to a Congress made up of slick lawyers and thieves who are only there to line their pockets with our money.

From the land of the brave and the home of the free and in God we trust, to a country that cannot utter his name.

From saving the world in two world wars, vanquishing the most evil men who have walked the earth, to a country that has not the spine to fight terrorists with roadside bombs.

From the greatest industrialized nation in the world to having a product made in the U.S.A becoming a collector’s item. From sending our children to school to learn reading writing and arithmetic, to showing them how to have safe sex and giving out birth control.

Where has my country gone?

It has fallen from within, a victim of a society that has lost its way, where our freedoms have been slowly taken away. Where the needs of the few have outweighed the needs of the many. It has gone from prayer in school to the killing of our children in those very schools.

Lord, forgive us, we know not what we do.
