Service night

LEWISTON – Lewiston Post 22, American Legion, will hold a service night during the meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Multi-Purpose Center, Birch Street.

Joseph Paradis, trustee and service officer, said Ellie Newell, admissions coordinator, Maine Veterans Home, South Paris, will be the speaker. A question and answer period will follow.

A table will be set aside to help veterans who may wish to have their name placed on a stone in the Lewiston Veterans Memorial Park.

Paradis, who was responsible for having the park renamed to honor veterans, said veterans need to show separation papers DD-form 214 or a proper document. The cost to place a name on a stone is $30.

Dues, $27.50 a year, will be accepted and new members will be processed. For more information, call 786-0488.

Special meeting

AUBURN – A special meeting of Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. Officers will confer the degrees of the order.

All Eastern Star members are invited to welcome the new member. Refreshments will be served in the dining hall following the meeting.

Camp trip

LEWISTON – Camp 12907, Modern Woodmen of America, is sponsoring a bus trip to Indian Head Resort, N.H., on Saturday, Dec. 1, for a Christmas party. Tickets are $54 for members and $55 for member guests. Tickets are on sale now and need to be purchased at the Modern Woodmen of America District Office, 184 Webster St. Seating is limited. Bridge winners

AUBURN – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at Schooner Estates on Nov. 12 were: first, Dick Allen and Woody Mercier; second, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; third, Martine Begert and Mary Leahey; fourth, Lucille Bilodeau and Luke Merry; first in B, Roger Briggs and Roger Labbe; second in B, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays at the Multi-Purpose Center, Lewiston, and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games.
