LEWISTON – Florence M. Audet, 77, of Lewiston, passed away on Monday, Nov. 12, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion after a long illness.
She was born on March 3, 1930, in Ste. Camille de Belchasse, P.Q., Canada. She was the daughter of the late Elda Boutin and Joseph Audet. She attended Lewiston schools including St. Dominic’s High School. She then moved to Fitchburg, Mass., where she worked in the factories for 30 years before returning home to Lewiston. Once back home, she worked at Bates Manufacturing and Libbey Mill, where she retired from in 1987.
She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and was known for her great love and kindness to lost or hurt animals. She enjoyed playing beano, watching music programs on PBS and spending time with all her family.
She is survived by two sisters, Marie Gildea of Pennsylvania, and Lilianne Bourque of Lewiston; a brother, Raymond Audet of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews and their children.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Noella Burke and Bernadette Gunther; and her brothers, Claude, Roland, Philip and Joseph Audet.
A special appreciation to her sister, Lili for her devoted love and care.
