Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center presents Jones & Boyce & Jenks, the third Center Stage Series show, on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. Stellar song-and-dance team Brian Jones and Susan Boyce join renowned ragtime pianist Glenn Jenks for a dazzling and fun-filled concert of music, dancing, song and comedy. The concert includes virtuoso tap dancing, old-time radio comedy and popular music from the early 1900s – even the national anthem gets a very special rendition.

Jones & Boyce, besides dancing, will present a set of their a cappella arrangements, recently premiered in Providence, R.I., and old-time radio bits. Jenks will feature some of the musical pleasures from his new CD, “Spider in the Tub,” including material by Scott Joplin, Debussy and Jenks himself.

Following the show, a special reception will be held across the street at the ArtDogs studio. It’s a chance to meet the performers, who will also provide a special encore, and to enjoy desserts, wine and coffee. The reception is free to Johnson Hall members and $7 donation for the public.

Well-remembered as headliners with the annual New England New Vaudeville Festival, the trio will return to Gardiner with a program of old favorites, new pieces and surprises. The Center Stage Series is sponsored by Kennebec Savings Bank, and this show is supported by Downeast Energy.
